A Safe Place's Behavioral Health Program is a specialized, evidence-based, trauma informed mental health program that improves equity and access to care for victims of domestic violence (DV), human trafficking (HT), and their minor children, free of charge. Services include individual and group therapy, family therapy, art therapy, play therapy, case management, and supportive services. The La Paloma program serves LatinX immigrants experiencing DV.
Cancer Wellness Center provides mental health services to individuals and families impacted by cancer. Serving more than 250 Moraine Township residents each year, the Center offers professional counseling and therapeutic support groups for those experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and other emotional challenges related to a cancer diagnosis. As the only local provider of specialized psychosocial cancer support, the Center ensures individuals do not face the emotional impact of cancer alone.
Family Service of Glencoe (FSG) provides comprehensive, culturally responsive mental health services to individuals and families of all ages, including counseling, case management, and single-session consultations. Services are available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, delivered both in person and via telehealth. FSG offers specialized programming such as senior services, caregiver support, and community education, prioritizing equitable access for individuals who are underinsured or facing financial barriers.
Fenix Family Health Center provides culturally responsive, bilingual mental health services to youth, uninsured individuals, Medicaid recipients, and low-income residents across Lake County, with a strong focus on serving Spanish-speaking immigrant communities. The organization delivers trauma-informed group therapy for youth and postpartum women, individual counseling, and integrates mental health screenings within primary care.
Family First Center of Lake County provides comprehensive, accessible mental health services through its Moraine Whole Health Initiative, offering evidence-based individual and family therapy via a hybrid model that includes telehealth, in-person care, and a mobile clinic. The agency incorporates holistic wellness approaches such as trauma-sensitive yoga, meditation, and nature-based therapy alongside licensed clinical care and case management.
JCFS's Outpatient Behavioral Health (OBH) department provides comprehensive, trauma-informed mental health services for children, adults, and families, including individual, couples, family, and group counseling, plus psychological and educational testing. OBH partners with local schools to deliver on-site mental health support and offers specialized group programming, including social and life skills groups for young adults on the autism spectrum.
KNOWTICE provides mindfulness-based programming in elementary school settings for students, faculty, and school support staff, teaching evidence-based practices that support emotional regulation, stress reduction, attention skills, and empathy. The program is designed to support both student well-being and educator capacity to create calm, connected, and supportive learning environments.
The Moraine Township Safe and Sound @Home Program is an integrated, home-based initiative designed to improve safety, reduce fall risk, and support the behavioral health and independence of older adults aging in place. Participants receive targeted home safety interventions plus an in-home assessment by a registered nurse case manager and licensed social worker, followed by in-home counseling and connection to additional support.
Josselyn is a certified Community Mental Health Center which, for more than 70 years, has provided a full slate of quality, accessible mental health services, including therapy, psychiatry, and other specialized services. Through its clinics in Northfield, Waukegan, and Northbrook, The Josselyn Center serves a diverse clientele of more than 7,800 children, adolescents, and adults from nearly 300 communities across Cook and Lake Counties.
Zacharias Sexual Abuse Center (ZCenter) provides counseling and advocacy services for adults and children who have experienced sexual assault and abuse, as well as support for their non-offending loved ones. Services are provided by trained counselors and advocates who assist clients with emotional support, safety planning, and navigating available resources, offered in both English and Spanish.
Nicasa Behavioral Health Services is a behavioral health and social services organization that serves the residents of Lake County and northern Illinois, providing services across a continuum of care that includes education, prevention, harm reduction, early intervention, treatment, and recovery. Nicasa provides prevention and educational outreach programs on underage and youth problem gambling, and offers personalized support including options to quit, take a break, assist loved ones, or enroll in self-exclusion programs.
Glenkirk supports more than 200 individuals annually through residential, clinical, and community-based programs, providing quality, lifetime support and services that empower individuals with intellectual disabilities to participate fully in community life. Glenkirk will operate a Behavioral Health Clinic hub within the Collaborative Community Housing Initiative building in Highland Park, expanding access to counseling, behavioral support, and care coordination for individuals with I/DD.
The Center for Enriched Living (CEL) is a non-profit organization that promotes disability inclusion and enriches the lives of youth, teens, and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities by maximizing opportunities for personal success, friendship, employment, and community involvement. CEL's programs address key obstacles faced by individuals with IDD, including social isolation, lifelong learning beyond age 22, under/unemployment, and access to mental and behavioral health support.
Collaborative Community Housing Initiative (CCHI) is launching the Commons Resident Community Connections (CRCC) Program in fall 2026 with the opening of CCHI Commons, a supportive, community-based residential model in Highland Park for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). CRCC provides structured coordination and individualized support, connecting residents to a network of nonprofit partners for transportation, vocational opportunities, and community-based activities.
Arts of Life (AofL) provides inclusive visual arts programs for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), operating studio-based environments where artists engage in ongoing creative practice and produce original artwork in a professional, supportive setting. AofL will have dedicated space in the new Collaborative Community Housing Initiative Commons to support residents and expand opportunities for self-expression.
